I just finished House of Leaves and found it both experiential & entertaining – an education on the fine line be[confusion & clarity]tween.
As someone whose career is built UPon the written word it was quite inspirational.
Challenging.
Preparing to put the book away I find my spatial awareness keener, & appear to be giving ordinary closets a w i d e berth.
I expect these symptoms won’t last ____long____, as revisiting Danielewski’s disclaimer* provides me with the necessary reassurance.
*“This book is a work of fiction.”

I read House of Leaves back when I was using the subway to commute to and from work. I couldn’t finish it then, and the memory of the anxiety I felt while reading it in that confined space won’t fade enough for me to pick it up again. Excellent book!
